• Entry Ticket to Machu Picchu Archaeological Site (Circuit 2) The “Machu Picchu Circuit 2” ticket offers the most complete tour of the Machu Picchu citadel and is also the most requested. For this reason, we recommend booking it well in advance to secure your entry.

Medical Kit or First AID Kit:

• All Pacha Peru Explorers guides have received specialized training in first aid. We hold mandatory training sessions with our guides every February.
• Your guide will always carry a first aid kit to face basic emergencies (altitude sickness, travelers’ diarrhea, cuts, scrapes, etc.) as well as oxygen. If necessary, we’ll evacuate you from the path as quickly as possible and ensure that you arrive at a clinic for treatment.

• We have telephone service available 24 hours/day for ease of communication with Salkantay Trekking leading up to your trek.

Acommodation

Hostel In Aguas Calientes: 

• The first night of this tour is spent in a hotel in Aguas Calientes with a double, triple or matrimonial room, private bathroom, hot shower, wifi, breakfast, and luggage storage while you visit Machu Picchu.

Meals

Day 1: 1 Lunch in Santa Teresa Town and Dinner in Aguas Calientes.

Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel.

Transportation

Transport:

• Day 1: You will be picked up from your hotel to go until Hidroelectrica
• Day 2: Transport fromHidroelectrica train station to your hotel in Cusco.

Train Tickets

• Day 1: From Hidroelectrica to Aguas Calientes (expedition train).
• Day 2: From Aguas Calientes to Hidroelectrica (expedition train).

What Is Not Included

Hayna Picchu mountain.

• You can climb the famous mountain you always see in the photos behind the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. It’s 45 minutes uphill, and coming back down can be scary if you fear heights. You can take this excursion once your guided tour to Machu Picchu ends. The permit must be issued at least two to three months in advance due to high demand. Consider that there could be changes to protect your integrity, mainly due to weather conditions.
• The ticket for Huayna Picchu Mountain has an extra cost of US$ 80.00 per person.

Machu Picchu Mountain.

• Machu Picchu Mountain is another of the mountains that surround the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. It offers less steep, wider, and visually less frightening trails than Huayna Picchu, and it takes 1.5 hours to reach the top. This walk requires an entrance ticket which we can secure for you if we have time in advance.
• The ticket for Machu Picchu Mountain has an extra cost of US$ 80.00 per person.

• Tipping is usual on any excursion to Peru. Although we pay good salaries to our team, something extra is always welcome.

Additional Costs or Delays Beyond Our Control

• This includes the occurrence of events such as landslides, adverse weather conditions, itinerary changes for safety reasons, illnesses, pandemics, changes in government policies, political instability, strikes, force majeure, and similar situations.
• In most cases, we guarantee your tickets and full logistics in advance—paying ahead for permits, schedules, accommodations, supplies, and even staff mobilization to ensure everything is ready. Therefore, any additional costs that arise due to such unforeseen events must be covered by you, as we must also reorganize several aspects on our side.
• We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these circumstances.

Machu Picchu Tour By Car 2D Packing List

Most people automatically assume that the weather is hot in South America, but due to the higher altitude of the Andes, the temperature can be quite cold, especially at night. We recommend using a duffel bag or backpack, whichever is easiest for you to carry. A good-sized backpack between 20 and 30 liters is also essential.

List of things you must bring:

• Small backpack or daypack.
• Cash (in local currency)
• Original Passport
• Original student card in case you applied for the student discount
• Water bottle or hydration bladder (at least 1-2 liters)
• Snacks (energy bars, nuts, dried fruit, etc.)
• Smartphone or camera (with chargers or extra batteries)
• Light, breathable, quick-dry layers (t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts)
• A light jacket or fleece for cooler temperatures
• Comfortable pants or shorts
• Waterproof jacket or poncho (in case of rain)
• Underwear and socks (preferably moisture-wicking)
• Sturdy, comfortable, and broken-in hiking shoes or sneakers
• Hat or cap for sun protection
